SIP Gateway

A 1U rack-mount server bridging IP telephony with PA/VA infrastructure. Distributes audio from SIP telephones and smartphones to voice alarm system lines, while delivering the additional functionality of a commercial sound system.

Messages can be added, deleted, scheduled and routed to dynamically assigned distribution zones from a web interface — without affecting the evacuation configuration held in the VAS control unit.

System Overview

Key Features

SIP / VoIP Bridging

Audio distribution from SIP telephones and smartphones into PA/VA system lines, with full register-and-route support for third-party IP PBX systems.

Hunting Group Routing

Loudspeaker zones programmed in MULTIVES / miniVES Selector are mapped to "hunting groups" addressable by phone number or DTMF code via a graphical interface.

Webserver Management

Browser-based admin panel for adding and deleting messages, configuring broadcast schedules and dynamically establishing distribution zones — independent of the VAS evacuation configuration.

Linux 1U Rack Server

Intel Xeon platform with dual Gigabit LAN, SSD storage and Linux operating system in a 1U rack chassis (43 × 437 × 290 mm).

Functionality

Characteristics

» Graphical interface for initial configuration

» Hunting groups assigned to MULTIVES / miniVES loudspeaker zones

» Telephone numbers and DTMF codes assigned via simple graphical interface

» Per-group access codes provided over DTMF

» Registers to SIP operators and third-party IP PBX systems

» Calls placed via SIP registration or directly to IP address on the same network

Applications

Typical Applications

PBX Integration
Register the gateway with a corporate SIP PBX. Any extension can dial a hunting group code to broadcast live or pre-recorded announcements to selected loudspeaker zones.
Compatible with 3rd-party IP PBX systems
Multi-Site Distribution
A single gateway distributes audio across multiple sites — Site 1 with rack-mounted ABT-CU-8LCD, Site 2 with miniVES 4002LN — using SMS for connection setup and RTP for voice transport.
Works with full ABT VAS family
Scheduled Broadcasting
With the Timers licence, calendar-driven event lists trigger recorded messages automatically — opening announcements, shift changes, end-of-day notifications — without operator intervention.
Requires T (Timers) licence
